Health & Nutrition – an intro to Beth Holmes

Let’s begin by talking about what health and nutrition coaching is not.

Extreme, dogmatic, insular.

Take a moment to let that sink in. How does that resonate with you? These words are limiting descriptors to what is common in the fitness industry. Do you feel you can breathe a little easier?


I get it and I hear you, but in the process of obtaining the results, I want you to gain a wealth of knowledge and insight. I want you to live in abundance.

My job as a health and nutrition coach is to be your open line of communication and guide to personal health. In working together, my goal with each individual is to help you find your “sweet spot”. This will likely require some digging and revisiting of what has and has not worked for you in the past. The affect food has on you as well as your relationship with it is unique. We eat multiple times a day, every day. It’s essential to survival, therefore it’s a big part of your life! You’ve had a lot of time to build (or destroy) your relationship with food and guess what?! It’s worth giving time and attention to.

Think back to when you were a kid, developing and discovering your favorite hobbies and activities. It took time to learn the ropes. If you were ever on a team, you probably remember the growing pains of mastering drills at practice. It requires attention to detail, knowing your weaknesses and strengths to work in unison with your team and be successful. Some days you win, some days you lose, but in the end, there’s always a valuable lesson to reflect on for tomorrow with the opportunity to improve.

Health and nutrition coaching is similar in that you get out what you put in. It requires a willingness to learn and an open mind. Being patient with yourself and the transformation that will inevitably come is necessary. The small daily wins followed by those more grandeur achievements are absolutely worth it in the end.

The fact that you’re reading this (hopefully!) means you care about making positive changes in your health and overall lifestyle. Finding what healthy means for you in a sustainable way seems obvious, right? We all want positive change, but humans tend to crave control. Sometimes the healthiest of habits can become unhealthy in our effort to achieve perfection.

Learning to make sacrifice is valuable, but discovering the cost of the sacrifice is where things get tricky. This is where the value of coaching becomes more apparent. Combining aspects of your life that are integral to your happiness without draining your free time, energy, relationships, and performance is how I will help elevate your success .

Regardless of what it is you’re looking to achieve, transparency will inevitably help close the gap in getting what you want from working together. Whether you’re at the starting line and need answers to questions or just want to dial in on your already great progress, I’m here to say that your goals are worthwhile and achievable.
