Coach Jesse has pursued competitive sports ever since his youth. His main passion growing up was playing and coaching goalie for his city competitive traveling youth teams and continued through high school. He also played football and hockey as secondary sports. His sophomore year of college, Jesse walked on to the Montana State University-Billings D2 men’s soccer team. Junior year, he transferred home to the University of Wyoming where he found Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and never looked back.
Over the years, Coach Jesse has compiled a laundry list of experience with high level competition and coaching in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. He has trained under legendary coaches such as David Ruiz, Rodrigo Medeiros, and Rodrigo Pinheiro as well as beginning his MMA training with Team Quest as Thierry Sokoudjou’s sparring partner. Coach Jesse had always supplemented his fighting sports with CrossFit training for endurance and strength purposes.
In the fall of 2015, Jesse was referred to Coach Miller for Olympic Lifting training and found a new love for weightlifting and CrossFit in the CrossFit Fortius family. In the spring of 2017, he decided to go all in with his love of helping people with health and fitness, receiving his CrossFit Level 1 certification and starting his own AdvoCare business, coaching people through sustainable nutrition choices. Coach Jesse continues to expand his knowledge of strength and fitness training as well as continuing to pursue competitive BJJ and MMA.
